Two events in October are linked to the building Canada’s future global position as a leading sustainable “Eco Destination”.One is the publication of the second issue of EcoTourism Canada Magazine, published by Vern Telford, Professor Emeritus at Georgian College in Barrie; and secondly, The Ecotourism & Sustainable Tourism Conference in Vancouver October 27-29.
EcoTourism Magazine Canada features Canadian Ecology Centre, the Bear Whisperer, a new Eco Lodge on James Bay, a new environmental language “Eco-Eigo”,and Whistler—a destination determined to be a world leader in sustainability.A major feature of the Second Edition is the printing using Warren’s Waterless Printing.
Featured in the new issue are details on the Ecotourism & Sustainable Tourism Conference in Vancouver October 27-29 hosted by The British Columbia Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, and The International Ecotourism Society located in WashingtonD.C.EcoTourism CanadaMagazine is an official sponsor of the 2008 conference.
I have been involved in the tourism Industry for 30 years as a marketer. a former working shareholder of Sherwood Inn in Muskoka and a professor at Georgian College. I try to recognize opportunities to create innovative packages and meaningful tourism partnerships. History goes back to the development of the Second City packages for Deerhurst Inn to the new Wye Marsh Eco-tours. I continue to offer select marketing consulting to various organizations in the Tourism Industry.

I am graduate of the University of Guelph Hotel Administration Honours Program (B.Comm) and have completed 20 credits towards my Masters Degree in Environmental Studies at York University.
I have a passion to spread the word and tell all of the wonderful stories that will encourage travel in Canada-with an emphasis on Ontario. I believe in see Canada First--and wish Governments would take a more proactive approach to keep Canadians travelling in Canada.
